VIETNAMESE VISA OVERVIEW

Tourist Visa
Issued to travelers who enter Vietnam for tourism, sightseeing, visit family/friend or other private purposes for a short period of time. Tourist visa is available for single-entry visa with maximum stay in Vietnam for 30 days, or for up to 90 days for applicants of Vietnamese origin.
Tourist visa may be extended after your arrival in Vietnam by contacting Vietnam Immigration Office. If you plan to stay in Vietnam for more than 30 days, or if you want to exit Vietnam then re-enter from China, Laos, Cambodia, you will need a three-month multiple-entry visa.

Business Visa
Issued to foreigners who enter Vietnam for business visit, research, or make commercial contacts. A business visa is usually valid for one month, three months or six months and allows multiple entry (30 days each visit) and the right to work.

Notes:

• Vietnamese visa is valid for entry and exit through international airports in Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang only. If your point of entry is different, you must request this on your application form.

• Vietnam Visa exemption is granted to citizens of the following countries. (An exemption letter must be obtained prior to entering Vietnam.)

1. Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Myanmar, Brunei and Laos for the maximum of stay up to 30 days.
2. Japan, South Korea, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Russia and Finland for the maximum stay up to 15 days.
3. Citizens of France holding valid diplomatic or official passports for the maximum stay of 90 days or for several visits of 6 months.
4. Citizens of Chile holding valid diplomatic or official passports for the maximum stay of 60 days.
5. APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) Holders from Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) member economies for the maximum stay of 60 days.
